A day with The Job Planner

What a normal day looks like

    1. 07:30

      Burst pipe message

Paste the text into Log a job. A leak pushes the priority up, the customer and address are matched, and you get a respond-by time.

    2. 08:00

      Customer knows you're coming

Tap On my way and the customer gets a text with your name and ID. Arrival time feeds the job sheet.

    3. 11:00

      Unvented cylinder install

Snap the data plate to fill in the cylinder details, then complete the G3 record and job sheet on the phone.

    4. 14:00

      Bathroom quote

Describe the job in a sentence and get priced lines from your catalogue. The customer signs online and pays a deposit by bank.

    5. 16:30

      Invoice before you leave

Labour and parts from the sheet become the invoice. It goes with a pay link, and reminders go out if it's late.

    Frequently asked questions

    Can I take a deposit when a customer accepts a quote?+

Yes. When the customer accepts online they can pay a deposit by bank transfer or card, and it comes off the final invoice.

Do I have to charge VAT?+

Only if you're registered. Set VAT per line at 0%, 5% or 20%, or switch it off altogether.

What happens to the parts I use on a job?+

Pick them from your catalogue on the job sheet. They come off stock and onto the invoice at your sell price, so nothing gets missed.

    Does it work for a one-man band?+

Yes. It's £30 per engineer a month with office seats free and no contract, so a sole trader pays for one seat.
