What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. Browser storage (localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDB) does a similar job, and lets the field app keep working with no signal. The law on this — the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) — applies to all of them, so we list them all here.
Under PECR we must ask for your consent before storing or reading anything on your device, unless it's covered by an exception. The exceptions include things that are strictly necessary for a service you've asked for (like staying signed in), and things that adapt the appearance of a site to your preference (like light or dark mode), provided we tell you about them and give you a simple way to object. What we don't use
- No analytics cookies (no Google Analytics or similar).
- No advertising, retargeting or social media tracking pixels.
- No Google Fonts or other font services — our fonts are served from our own website, so loading a page doesn't tell anyone else you visited.
How to change your choice
- On our website: click Cookie settings in the footer of any page. You can switch the optional Lead Capture AI contact form on or off. If you switch it off, reload the page to make sure the script stops running; you can also delete any cookies it set in your browser settings.
- Light or dark mode: use the theme switch to change it. If you'd rather we didn't store your choice at all, you can block or delete cookies and site data for our website in your browser settings — the site will simply use the default look.
- In your browser: every browser lets you view and delete cookies and site data. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you signing in.
- Field app on a shared phone: to remove offline job data, clear the site data for The Job Planner in the phone's browser settings.
If you don't make a choice, we treat it as a "no" — optional items stay off.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page before we add any new cookie or storage item, and we'll ask for your consent again if we add anything optional. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
